London riot turns mad!
Said to be caused by local tensions and anger over economic situation which first flared after a peaceful protest in Tottenham over the fatal shooting of a man by police on Saturday, riots have spread over London the past days. Stores and shops were looted by angry teenagers and buildings were set to fire. They are said to be the worst riots in the British capital for years.

Related upheavals were also seen in Birmingham, Liverpool, Nottingham and Bristol.
Additional 1,700 police officers have been deployed in London and at least 400 have been arrested.
