Binibining Pilipinas 2011 candidates in bikinis during press presentation

The 40 lovely candidates of the most prestigious beauty pageant in the country, the Binibining Pilipinas 2011, were presented to the press recently. The event was held at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Ballroom on Tuesday, March 8, 2011.


Some of the press present expected to see only 37 candidates since two had been disqualified and one had resigned from the competition after nude photo controversies. However, three new candidates were added by the Binibining Pilipinas 2011 organizers to replace them.

They three new candidates are Bernadette Aguirre from Bulacan, Cantaduanes native Gerlie Lero, and one of Miss Philippines-Earth 2009 Top 10 Finalists Monique Teruelle Manuel of Bataan.

Binibining Pilipinas 2011 welcomes 3 new candidates (Video)

With the unexpected disqualifications of 3 hopefuls over nude photos recently, the Binibining Pilipinas 2011 organizers have added 3 more candidates to fill-up the slots left, bringing back the number of contestants to 40.

Presented to the press last Tuesday, March 8, at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel together with the rest of the contestants were Bernadette Aguirre from Bulacan, Cantaduanes native Gerlie Lero, and one of Miss Philippines-Earth 2009 Top 10 Finalists Monique Teruelle Manuel of Bataan. They replaced Jen Olivar, Grendel Alavarado and Roxanne Cabanero who already left the competition (Read more HERE).

Roxanne Cabanero, 3rd candidate to leave Binibining Pilipinas 2011

Roxanne Cabanero, the candidate who resigned from Binibining Pilipinas 2011 after being rumored to have scandalous p0rn photos (Read more about the issue HERE.), was not the only one who left the beauty pageant.

A day before Roxanne Cabanero's resignation 2 other Binibining Pilipinas 2011 hopefuls were eliminated from the the official list of candidates.

Philippines' Next Top Model winner Grendel Alvarado and fellow contestant in the reality show Jenilyn Olivar were both disqualified after the Bb. Pilipinas organizers found out that they posed nude for the model search before.


And now, from the original 40 finalists, the Binibining Pilipinas official list of candidates has been shorten into 37. Binibining Pilipinas Candidate Roxanne Cabañero resigns from the pageant after being linked to nude photos | Roxanne Cabañero Photo Scandal

"Too hot to handle!" This apparently the reason why Binibining Pilipinas 2011 finalist Roxanne Cabañero was asked to resign from the beauty pageant which she later did.

Yes, the rumor linking early favorite Venus Raj look-alike Roxanne Cabañero to a Filipina porn star whose nude photos are posted on the web was getting too HOT prompting the Bb. Pilipinas organizers to ask the candidate to resign.


Supposedly candidate number 7, the 24 year-old Cebu City native Roxanne Cabañero felt the need to let go of her dream of becoming a representative of the Philippines to international beauty competitions after all the pressure surrounding her. She denied all the allegations thrown upon her and filed a complaint to the one who started the rumor who is still being determined by the National Bureau of Investigation.

Based on my little research, the issue seemed to have started when someone from a forum site claimed that he/she has proofs that Roxanne Cabañero used to be a porn star when she was younger. After posting links to atleast 3 sets of nude photo shoots, the person added that the scar on the arm of the one on the nude photos and Roxanne's are too similar to deny.
