Binibining Pilipinas 2011 candidates in bikinis during press presentation

The 40 lovely candidates of the most prestigious beauty pageant in the country, the Binibining Pilipinas 2011, were presented to the press recently. The event was held at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Ballroom on Tuesday, March 8, 2011.


Some of the press present expected to see only 37 candidates since two had been disqualified and one had resigned from the competition after nude photo controversies. However, three new candidates were added by the Binibining Pilipinas 2011 organizers to replace them.

They three new candidates are Bernadette Aguirre from Bulacan, Cantaduanes native Gerlie Lero, and one of Miss Philippines-Earth 2009 Top 10 Finalists Monique Teruelle Manuel of Bataan.

Binibining Pilipinas 2011 welcomes 3 new candidates (Video)

With the unexpected disqualifications of 3 hopefuls over nude photos recently, the Binibining Pilipinas 2011 organizers have added 3 more candidates to fill-up the slots left, bringing back the number of contestants to 40.

Presented to the press last Tuesday, March 8, at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel together with the rest of the contestants were Bernadette Aguirre from Bulacan, Cantaduanes native Gerlie Lero, and one of Miss Philippines-Earth 2009 Top 10 Finalists Monique Teruelle Manuel of Bataan. They replaced Jen Olivar, Grendel Alavarado and Roxanne Cabanero who already left the competition (Read more HERE).

Grendel Alvarado joins Binibining Pilipinas 2011

Philippines' Next Top Model grand champion Grendel Alvarado is joining the most prestigious beauty pageant in the Philippines, Binibining Pilipinas which annually produces the country's representatives to international beauty competitions like the Miss Universe and the Miss International.

The 25-year old Grendel Alvarado will be competing against 39 other finalists of Binibining Pilipinas 2011.

It is going to be a tough competition for this Bacolod Pride for sure since a number of contestants are pretty much competitive already even with their backgrounds alone. There are past beauty pageant title holders, TV personalities, and models.

The Coronation Night of Bb. Pilipinas 2011 will be held in April.
