Miss Universe 2011: Shamcey Supsup believes in aliens, wants to be a bird and fly

Shamcey Supsup was recently made to answer three questions for her web interview - all were generic questions also given to the rest of the Miss Universe 2011 candidates. Here were Shamcey's answers:

Do you believe in life on other planets?

Well, I believe there are other people in other planets because if we are living on earth and it's a big place... and it is small... you know... thing compared to the galaxy and another galaxy... I believe there are people out there. We just have to find them out sooner.

What advantage do women have over men?

Well, I think one advantage is that we rely on our intuition. And they always say that when a woman has an intuition, it is usually right.  So we know if you are lying or not. So guys don't ever fool us. noypistuff

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?

Hmmmm... If I'd be an animal, I wanna be bird... because I wanna fly without limit.. like see the mountains and the seas...  And you know just feel free and feel the wind on my face. So I'd be a bird, any kind of bird.

Shamcey Supsup in short hair?

Shamcey Supsup, the Philippines' representative to this year's Miss Universe beauty pageant, did her official photo-shoot with photographer Raymond Saldaña recently where she tried out different looks. One of the most striking would have to be this short hair (a wig) she tried on. It said to have made her look more sexy and sophisticated, and thus might give her more chances of getting the Miss U judges' attention. What do you think? Shalani Soledad, Shamcey Supsup, Piolo Pascual, Jennylyn Mercado won the top honors in the recently concluded 2011 Yahoo! OMG Awards.

By being the most searched personalities on Yahoo! Philippines, politician-TV host Shalani Soledad was awarded "OMG! Celebrity of the Year" while beauty queen Shamcey Supsup won the "OMG! Major Impact" award.

Meanwhile, actor Piolo Pascual and actress Jennylyn Mercado got the highest votes in the poll made by the search engine giant. They were given the "Hottest Actor" and "Hottest Actress" awards, respectively.

Shamcey Supsup slated to welcome President Noynoy in GenSan

The newly crowned Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2011, Shamcey Supsup is all set for her homecoming parade tomorrow, April 13, in General Santos City. It was previously reported that a 'Hero's Welcome' has been prepared for the beauty queen.

President Noynoy (PNoy) Aquino is also scheduled to visit the city this Thursday and Shamcey Supsup is slated to welcome PNoy during his visit.

In an interview with TV Patrol, Shamcey Supsup said she wants the President to learn a thing they commonly do in the city.

"Tuturuan ko po siyang mag-copra kung gusto po niya... paano magbunot ng niyog," Shamcey Susup jokingly said.

Winning the most coveted title of the pageant is just one of the amazing achievements of the beautiful lass from Iligan City (she was born in Iligan but grew up in General Santos City). She topped the Architect Licensure Exam last June 2010. She also finished BS Architecture with Latin honors (Magna Cum Laude) at University of the Philippines-Diliman. She was also the Class Salutatorian when she graduated in Makati High School.


Stands 5'7 1/4", 24-year old Shamcey Supsup weighs 105 lbs with the following vital statistics: 32 1/2 - 23 1/2 - 33 1/2. She is fond of drawing, painting and reading books.

During the Question and Answer portion of last night's event, she was asked of the question below:

"What worthy cause do you identify yourself with and why?"

Her answer was: "I think the one worthy cause I can identify myself with is valuing education. Because I believe education is something that cannot be taken away from you. You can have money, you can have fame, but in the end, it can be taken from you. But education will always be there to help you."

Shamcey Supsup will be representing the Philippines in the Miss Universe competition on September 12 in Brazil.
