Amy Winehouse dead at age 27

Amy Winehouse, a British jazz and R&B singer, has been found dead at her residence in north London, Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported. She was 27 years of age.

"Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square shortly before 4:05 pm (1505 GMT) today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased," a police officer told AFP.

Shortly afterwards, authorities confirmed Amy Winehouse's death.

The cause of the singer's death is still being investigated.

Winehouse had received extensive publicity over her drug and alcohol problems as well as her mental health issues. Last month, her European tour was cancelled after she appeared too drunk to perform in her concert in Serbia.

Winehouse's popularity skyrocketed when she won five awards at the Grammys for her 2006 second album "Back to Black" and the hit single "Rehab".

Lady Gaga is no longer the 'Facebook Queen'

Lady Gaga has been ousted from her Facebook throne by Rihanna who is now the new queen of Facebook. The "California King Bed" singer has overtaken Lady Gaga's number of "likes" on the social media site, pushing down the "Paparazzi" singer to #2.

As of this writing, Rihanna has amassed 41,063,028 "likes" for her Facebook fan page, edging out Gaga's 40,952,397 "likes".

The passing of the crown was noted by Facebook's marketing director Randi Zuckerberg, who tweeted last week, "Sorry, Gaga! As of today, Rihanna has passed Lady Gaga as the #1 most popular woman on Facebook.

Gaga still rules on Twitter, though (with 11.6 million followers, she bests Rihanna, who is down at #13 in Twitter followers). Gaga also tops the celebrities when her combined Facebook likes, Twitter followers and Youtube views are taken into account. Demi Lovato has debuted the music video of her newest single "Skyscraper" on E! Online today (saw it online last Wednesday, though). The song, which said to be autobiographical, has been well received and had been a trending topic on Twitter for days.

Demi's new music video is pretty much simple. In a light, breezy dress, she heartily sings "Skyscraper" in a desert which is I guess enough to convey the message of the song.

"When I first started talking to people about the video, I remember thinking, 'this isn't your glam video. I don''t want it to be all about the hair and the makeup and the outfit.' For a lot of video, I was actually barefoot. This has to be so raw and it has to be able to show all of the emotion I'm feeling," Demi told E! Online.
